VBRAH is proud and honored to award scholarships to these high school seniors. Pictured from left to right: (Nicole Fountain - Waianae, Amenda Nguyen - Farrington, & April Fermin - Farrington). Congratulations!
The Board of Directors of VBRAH envisioned different ways to help build the community.  A Scholarship Committee was formed that consisted of four Board Members and two VBRAH Members.  After long hours of research, the committee formulated a criteria for the scholarship applicants consisting of a good record of academic excellence, strong commitment to community service, overcoming adversity, and a demonstration of financial need.  The scholarship packages were then forwarded to Oahu public schools.   It was a difficult task to narrow down the applicants to just three, because all applicants showed great merit.  In the end, the selected finalists possessed the right balance of strong academic achievement, a commitment to serving the community, and the ability to overcome adversity, as well as demonstrating financial need.  Those selected were:  Nicole Fountain from Waianae High School, Amenda Nguyen from Farrington High School, & April Fermin from Farrington High school.  The recipients were given their award certificates on Saturday April 14, 2012 at the VBRAH Fundraising Event at Lemongrass Café in Honolulu, Hawaii.  To view pics from the event click here.  To become a VBRAH member and learn about other committees to join contact us today.
